Participation

Are you interested in having your restaurant participate?

If you are a restaurant, cafe, pub, cellar door, caterer, farm gate, accommodation or food tourism experience located in BC and serving BC-sourced food or beverages then we welcome and encourage you to join Buy BC: EAT DRINK LOCAL.

For a participating business, Buy BC: EAT DRINK LOCAL is a marketing campaign. The initiative centres on growing the number of visits, increasing the profile for restaurants and businesses that feature BC food and beverage, and increasing sales of local product through the supply chain.

For restaurant customers, BUY BC: EAT DRINK LOCAL offers unique dining experiences that highlight locally grown and produced foods paired with local beers, wines, ciders and spirits. It’s a strong reason to dine out in BC restaurants!

What's involved?

The highlight of the campaign is your unique menu or fresh sheet that highlights local BC food paired with BC beverage products (when applicable).

During the one-month promotion, each participating restaurant is encouraged to create a feature of fresh sheet or menu items that highlight local BC food paired with BC beverage products (when applicable). Year round, participating restaurants are required to profile BC food and beverages on their menus and to label them accordingly. Whether you have a strong BC program or are just introducing BC products to your menu, this campaign is for you!

No previous support or promotion of local ingredients in the restaurant is required.

How will this campaign benefit your restaurant?

  1. Increase sales through participating in a province-wide BC food and beverage campaign.
  2. Be profiled on the Buy BC: EAT DRINK LOCAL website year-round.
  3. Post your local special offers, events and dishes through our Buy BC: EAT DRINK LOCAL website and social media.
  4. Showcase the freshness, quality and great taste of British Columbia’s amazing food to local consumers and tourists.
  5. Be part of a growing social media conversation on local food and beverage.
  6. Be promoted through the program advertising campaign in print and online.

Are you a leader in local food?

Has your restaurant already partnered with local farms to provide the freshest, most high quality ingredients available? Those restaurants leading the way - particularly those that are fully committed to delivering a local BC product across the board - will be considered for status as “Local Champion” and will garner additional opportunities for profiling on the website and in the media.
