Il Caminetto brings a fresh, contemporary style of dining to the mountains.
Twenty year Whistler veteran, Executive Chef James Walt helms the kitchen alongside his responsibilities for overseeing Toptable Group’s sister venues, locavore-centric Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar and Spanish-inspired Bar Oso. His many travels to Italy throughout his career and his time in Rome with the Canadian Consulate General have surely shaped his love for Italian cuisine and his regionally-focused vision for Il Caminetto.
“The menu for Il Caminetto is a collection of my favourite memories from travels with friends and family from Milan in the north to Palermo on the southern island of Sicily,” says Chef Walt. “From the housemade bread program to the daily scratch-made pastas and gelato, our brigade takes great pleasure in crafting quality products and letting them shine through in our classic preparations with a modern twist.”
